Inherent dangers exist when performing maintenance on equipment. The proper use of safety equipment and knowledge on how to isolate and de-energize equipment prior to work is absolutely essential for all maintenance personnel.  Employers are required to provide training to the authorized employees prior to a lockout ever being applied.
