LP Management Services takes pride in the quality of training we deliver by staffing excellent and personable trainers, many of whom have backgrounds in the Navy nuclear program. All trainers are either credentialed as CSP, OHST and/or Outreach Instructors for OSHA 10 and 30 Hour Construction and General Industry. Our trainers have the expertise and communication skills to effectively train employees ranging from entry-level to experienced engineers, in a personable and valuable way. LP Management Services has a vast network throughout the country, which allows us the flexibility to service multiple locations. Besides safety and operational training, LP Management Services provides policy and procedure development, safety and risk assessments and compliance training for NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
Kovalan is a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and has 25 years of consulting and operations experience. Prior to employment with LP Management Services, Kovalan worked 14 years for Wausau Insurance Companies, a leading provider of insurance services. Kovalan has experience working with Fortune 500 companies in the development and implementation of their safety and health programs, as well as their risk management programs. He was also the Director of Loss Prevention for a Fortune 500 facility and mobile services company. Kovalan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Technology Degree from Ball State University. He is a credentialed outreach instructor for the Construction Safety Council of Illinois and also for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) with 10 and 30 Hour General Industry courses. Kovalan is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
Gibson is a Board Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST). He has extensive experience conducting facility safety assessments with concentration on critical data center environments. Gibson is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He is credentialed through OSHA to provide the 10 and 30 Hour General Industry courses. Gibson previously worked as a safety technician for an industrial painting contractor where he gained extensive experience in managing confined space hazards . He is qualified to instruct competent or qualified person courses for confined space, lockout-tagout, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, and fall protection. Gibson graduated with top honors from Indiana University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs with an Environmental Management concentration.
Elwell is a Board Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST). Elwell has a rich background in the US Navy as a Nuclear Electrician of 22 years. He held many roles, most notably as the Divisional Team Leader for Reactor and Propulsion Plant low and medium voltage support systems, and also as the Force Nuclear Propulsion Electrical Assistant. Elwell was the principal technical advisor with electrical-related and safety issues on nuclear powered aircraft carriers. He was a qualified Electrical Load Dispatcher and Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor in the operation of a dual-reactor propulsion plant. Elwell has trained many students, including nuclear engineers and commanding officers on the safe operations of a propulsion plant and electrical systems. Post-Naval career, Elwell has developed technical/safety training courses as a consultant providing customized procedures and policies for clients. He is also a qualified outreach instructor for the OSHA 10 and 30 Hour General Industry courses.
Heintz served for 10 years in the United States Navy as an Electrician and Maintenance Supervisor in the Navy nuclear power program. He is also a Board Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST). Heintz has extensive experience training and leading the electrical division on three submarines through preventative and corrective maintenance as a qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor. He received Sailor of the Year aboard the USS Santa Fe and multiple Navy achievement medals through 2009. He is also a qualified Electrical Engineer, an authorized OSHA outreach instructor for the 10 and 30 Hour General Industry courses and an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid and CPR Trainer. Heintz most recently received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
Stephen Geis, OHST, also serves as a Safety and Technical Associate with LP Management Services. Geis served for 15 years in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician and Maintenance Supervisor in the Navy Nuclear Power Program. He has extensive experience training and leading the reactor control division on two submarines. Stephen also has considerable experience conducting on the job training, safety assessments and developing lockout tagout procedures. He is qualified to instruct courses for lockout-tagout, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, electrical troubleshooting and other advanced electronics courses. Geis is a Certified Heartsaver First Aid and CPR Trainer through the American Heart Association. He is also an authorized OSHA 10 and 30 Hour General Industry Instructor, and a Board Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST).
