Troubleshooting Simulator Labs

Hands-on troubleshooting has proven to be one of the most effective training methods to successfully retain knowledge.  Our instructors begin by giving an overview of schematics/diagrams, motor operation or troubleshooting control circuits.  As the participants go through the troubleshooting procedures course, our instructors then provide guidance helping students use critical thinking.  Helpful hints are given for participants to learn from their mistakes, and the course is designed to encourage thoughtful problem solving.  Students are tracked and graded on their performance as they progress through more time-consuming faults.  Three troubleshooting simulator courses are available: Motor Circuits, Industrial Controls, and Control Circuits.

Motor Circuits Troubleshooting Simulator Lab

Automated motor control systems play a big role in the production and efficiency of industrial operation. Their correct installation, operation and maintenance can save thousands of dollars. However, a motor control system adjusted or functioning incorrectly can cost just as much. Faulty motor control equipment can even cause damage to systems and equipment not directly connected to the motor circuit. The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of motor control systems including in-depth troubleshooting techniques utilizing controller simulator software. Participants will work either individually or in small teams to operate a user friendly motor simulator software program that is loaded on laptops. Lectures, visual aids, and student hands-on performance will also be utilized to provide the greatest possible exposure to motor control circuitry. Anyone who works on or near power generation, transmission, or distribution systems should attend this course.

Industrial Controls Simulator Lab

Automated motor control systems play a big role in the production and efficiency of industrial operation. Their correct installation, operation and maintenance can save thousands of dollars. The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of motor control systems including in-depth troubleshooting techniques utilizing controller simulator software. Participants will work either individually or in small teams to operate a user friendly industrial controls simulator software program that is loaded on laptops. Lectures, visual aids, and student hands-on performance will also be utilized to provide the greatest possible exposure to motor control circuitry. Anyone who works on or near power generation, transmission, or distribution systems should attend this course. Additionally, supervisors, managers, safety personnel, and those responsible for ensuring a safe work environment should attend this course.

Control Circuits Troubleshooting Simulator Lab

Control circuitry is absolutely essential to industrial operations. Nearly all operations require some degree of automated oversight in order to function at all, much less to function well. What happens when the control circuitry fails or operates poorly? The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of control circuitry, including in-depth troubleshooting techniques utilizing controller simulator software. Participants will work either individually or in small teams to operate a user friendly control circuit simulator software program that is loaded on laptops. Lectures, visual aids, and student hands-on performance will also be utilized to provide the greatest possible exposure to control circuitry and the myriad of its applications. Anyone who works on or near power generation, transmission, or distribution systems should attend this course. Additionally, supervisors and those responsible for ensuring a safe work environment should attend this course.
